In the Midst of the Storm

Sometimes, life throws you curve balls. Things seem to happen unexpectedly and life seems to pull you down. The hardest part is that is seems to all happen one after the other. So what do you do then? What does God think about this cluster of problems that seem like a storm and what does the Bible say to help us?

There are countless times in the Bible where God gives you promises that you can stand on. When life seems to knock you flat on your back, it’s up to you to stand back up on the unshakable foundation of God’s Word. It may seem easier said than done, but you must remember that God never forgets to follow through on a promise he gives you. The Bible says in Hebrews 10:23 Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful.” If God makes a promise, He is faithful to follow through to completion.

Here are some scriptures that you can stand on the promise of God.

Philippians 4:7

And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Philippians 4:19

And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.

Jeremiah 29:11

For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.

Matthew 11:28-29

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

Isaiah 40:29-31

He gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless. Even youths will become weak and tired, and young men will fall in exhaustion. But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.

These are just a few promises from The Word that you can stand on. Hold them close to your heart. When life begins to seem like your in the midst of the storm, hold on to the Word that God gives you.
